CURRENT BKSCC PROJECTS Kochieng Hand Crafted Beaded Jewelry ![]() Kochieng Widows and Orphans Self Help Group (KOWIO)KOCHIENG WIDOWS AND ORPHANS is a community-based organization, which is managed by members of the community themselves. Located in the Kochieng East Kadibo Division of the Kisumu District in Nyanza Province, Kenya, The main purpose of the group is to enhance the community socio-economic development by promoting and encouraging:
Our current project involves selling hand made beaded necklaces and bracelets fabricated by the Kochieng Widows of Kisumu. Each necklace was hand beaded. These beautiful necklaces are symbols of independence and hard work. We know that you will truly enjoy your purchase from its aesthetic standpoint, but more importantly from its humanitarian standpoint. Proceeds from your purchase will provide for them and their families now and assist in obtaining a sustainable future. One-half of this years proceeds will also be used to establish a micro-economic loan fund for other Kochieng members. Rabuor Primary School Orphan Feeding Program - Sponsored by Boulder Rotary Club Through their Signature event "Oktoberfest" in 2007.The Rabuor Primary School Orphan Feeding Program is a sustainable project to provide food to orphans so that they are fed and attend school. Houses for goats and Chickens were built in 2008. Goats (for milk), chickens (eggs and meat), and a grain mill leased to the DAGO youth network to assist in producing Afya Uji Porridge mix will complete the project. Over 350 orphans attend the school and will be fed as a result of this project. The BKSCC wishes to thank Boulder Rotary Club for its support of this program.
BKSCC Rallies in Boulder Parade of Lights 12/6/08 At the Annual City of Boulder Parade of Lights, the Boulder Sister City Alliance, led by BKSCC, marched the parade route to garner support for the City of Boulder's 150th anniversary. Congratulations Boulder!
